Henry Hanley CPA, proprietor

Henry has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for over two decades and has extensive experience working as a financial statement auditor, tax preparer (for-profit and non-profit), personal investment advisor, and business operations specialist. Henry started his professional career working for the global accounting firm PwC, where he specialized in working with inventory management in manufacturing and tobacco firms throughout the Southeastern United States, particularly in southern Georgia and northeastern Florida.

Henry has worked as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a branch of the Boys and Girls Club of America in his home state of Rhode Island, where he worked to overhaul the troubled financial circumstances at the Club he attended as a youth. Furthermore, for many years he was the owner-operator of his own CPA firm where he focused his practice on personal financial planning and CFO services for small and medium-sized for-profit and non-profit organizations.

In 2012 Henry embarked on a personal journey spending two years living and working at Esalen Institute, a center for human potential located in Big Sur, California. In 2014 Henry was named Director of Finance and Operations at Edgemakers Inc., an educational technology start-up company headquartered in The Presidio area of San Francisco. Henry guided Edgemakers through two rounds of venture capital financing (Series A and B) totaling over twenty-five million dollars.

Henry holds a BA degree in Political Science from Bates College where he was a four-year member of both the varsity baseball and basketball teams, serving as captain of both teams. Additionally, Henry earned a Masters of Science (MS) in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston. Henry's active CPA license is held in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Henry currently resides in San Francisco. In December 2021, Henry earned an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts at City College of San Francisco (CCSF) with an emphasis on artisan bread baking. Henry is passionate about Jungian psychology, and the practical aspects of working Jungian concepts into everyday life and business decisions. Henry is an Analyst in Training at the Jungian Institute of New England.
